Top 10 Boutique Hotels in Los Angeles

Top 10 Boutique Hotels in Los Angeles

“Hopped off a plane at LAX” for a quick ‘market research’ trip. As I have talked about before, my family is opening our second boutique hotel this summer (the RSVP Motel) in Bozeman, MT. Along with the 37 room hotel, there will be an event center (The Local), and a healthy eatery (The Farmer’s Daughters).

Los Angeles really has so many fun, cute, and trendy boutique hotels to choose from. When I travel, I am always looking for a cool place to stay that really brings out the culture in that city/town. Before leaving on this trip, I really did my research on great boutique hotels. Here is my top 10 list for your next trip to La La Land.

Where do you guys like to stay in LA?

Farmer’s Daughter

One of my favorite boutiques I have stayed at! The location is perfect, bordering West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and only 5 minutes from all of the great restaurants and shopping spots. They nailed the details in the rooms, as well as the decor on the outside patio. Their restaurant, Tart, is so cute. It’s a great place for coffee in the morning or a cocktail at night. {$150 – $225}

Palihouse West Hollywood

We stayed here night 2 in LA, and I am obsessed with the decor and vibe in this hotel. Definitely a great bang for your buck in the size of the rooms. Ours was a 1 bedroom suite, with a beautiful kitchen, big windows, and a great bathroom. The bar is the place to be on a Saturday night, and the restaurant, Mardi, is one of the hottest brunch places in L.A. The location is perfect for hanging out in West Hollywood, and it is not too far from the airport. I cannot wait to check out their other location in Santa Monica. Take a look HERE. {$250 – $450}

Hotel Covell

I’ve been eyeing this place for years. If their property is anything like their website, this place is a must. I always look for a hotel with a lively bar, and the Bar at Hotel Covell looks like the perfect place to belly up. {$250 – $500}

The Surfrider Motel

This recently restored motor inn style boutique came up on many of my searches. Whoever remodeled this place knows what they are doing. Check out their website, this is a dream hotel. Plus, it’s located in Malibu…need I say more?! We stopped in Malibu for lunch at Malibu Farms. I could easily live here! This would make for a great surprise trip…husband I hope you are reading this (wink wink). The photo above does not do this place justice…click HERE to view their gallery. {$350 – $600}

Ace Hotel Downtown LA

You cannot go wrong staying at an Ace Hotel. I’ve stayed at them all over California, they are all really cool and trendy. This one has been on my list for a while, the historic theater was converted into a hotel in 2014. The ornate details are to die for! {$350 – $500}

SLS Hotel Beverly Hills

Nick and I stayed here a few years ago, and we fell in love with this contemporary property. Located in the heart of Beverly Hills, the location is perfect. They have a great rooftop pool, and an award winning restaruant. Even if you do not stay here, the Bazzar by Jose Andres restaurnt is worth a stop. One of the coolest restaurants I have been to, serving tapas style dishes that are more creative than you can imagine. The bar is also over the top…so check it out. {$400 and up }

The Rose Hotel in Venice

Located on Abbot Kinny Ave, you cannot go wrong. I love everything about Venice, very electic, fun, and the restarunts are great. I could seriously spend all day on Abbot Kinny Ave, and this hotel is located perfectly. The rooms are white and simple, just the way I like it. Plus, given the location, the price is reasonable as well. {$195 – $450} By the way, my favorite restaurant in Venice, The Butcher’ Daughter, is right down the street.

Avalon Hotel

I have not stayed here yet, but I hope to the next time I’m in LA. The decor is on point for the mid-century design and timeless architecture. It also looks like an Instagrammers dream, around every corner is the perfect photo opportunity! {$250 – $500}

Petit Ermitage

Now this place looks fun! I love the bohemian-Moroccan vibe that is very art focused. The roof-top pool/bar looks extremly inviting. Adding this place to my list. {$350 – $600}

Beverly Hills Hotel

OK, I am putting this hotel on my top 10 list as I hope to manifest my stay here someday, haha. Currently, it is way out of my budget, but a girl can dream. They say write it down and it’s 200% more likely to happen, right?!

Anyway, I love everything about this classic Beverly Hills Hotel. We have eaten at the Cabana Restaurant (pool side, which I highly recommend), and the Polo Lounge, both are fantaistic. The decor is just so outstanding, exactly what it looks like in all of the great Beverly Hills movies. You feel like a star the minute you step foot on the red carpet entrance. Follow that with excellent service and the best people wathcing place in town, and what else do you need?! Someday I will do an official review on this hotel! {$800 – expensive}
