Fab Four Smoothie

I know what you are thinking…not another smoothie on your Instagram feed. However, I’ve had a lot of requests for my go-to smoothie recipe. Many of you have probably seen this smoothie recipe or have heard of Be Well By Kelly. I have been following her for a really long time, and love her approach to food and health, she is not about starving yourself. Kelly is a holistic nutritionist and health coach, who is all about clean living.  She really makes it pretty simple when cooking at home or eating out. She has a few main principles FIBER – GREENS – PROTEIN -HEALTHY FAT, at every meal. This system is easy for me to follow in my everyday life and when traveling. You should check out her book BODY LOVE, her perspective on food had been very helpful getting back into pre-baby shape.

As Kelly says in her book, “The #bewellsmoothie is a formula to help you develop a blood sugar balancing meal replacement shake with enough protein, fat and fiber to keep you full. Many juice shops, grocery smoothie bars and smoothie recipes are loaded with sugar, specifically fructose sugar from excess fruit. Fructose sugar stores as fat 20-30% faster than glucose. The #bewellsmoothie limits fructose to (1/4-1/2 cup) depending on your goals.”

The Fab 4 Smoothie has been my go-to every day since baby…it is extremely nutritious, tasty, and super filling. No one likes that feeling of hunger by the time lunch rolls around and you end up grabbing anything quick and available. This smoothie keeps me full for hours!


Remember…Protein, fat, fiber, & greens. I don’t measure everything out perfectly, I gave you a few measurements to get started. Once you have made this a few times just eye ball it!

2 handfuls spinach (or any greens you have)

1 scoop protein powder ( I love the Garden of Life vanilla)

1/4 cup berries ( I use blueberries and raspberries)

1 tbsp almond butter (or avocado)

2 tbsp chia seeds (or hemp seeds)

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or hemp milk)

1/2 cup water

2 ice cubes
